Eligibility Overview
Who can submit?
Submissions must be made by the indie author or publisher of record. Third-party or reader submissions are not accepted in author categories.
What qualifies as an indie author or publisher?
An indie author or publisher operates independently without a contract from a large traditional publishing house. This includes self-published authors and small independent presses.
Eligible Publication Dates
To qualify for the 2026 awards season, books must have been first published between:
May 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026
Reprints, rereleases, or new editions do not reset eligibility unless the work has been substantially rewritten and clearly disclosed.
Before you submit
One submission per category
Each book may only be submitted once per category. Duplicate entries may be removed.
Author or publisher only
Reader nominations must be submitted through the reader nomination form, not here.
Category accuracy matters
Select the most appropriate category. Final placement may be adjusted during review.
